"University of California system president Janet Napolitano should be dismissed. Napolitano used to head up the Department of Homeland Security. She had executive responsibility for keeping al-Qaeda out of New York and Washington, but she can’t secure a lecture hall on a California college campus? That beggars belief. The issue here is not an inability to act responsibly but an unwillingness to do so. She should go."

Nearing 100 days, Trump’s approval at record lows but his base is holding
"The new survey finds 46 percent saying they voted for Clinton and 43 percent for Trump, similar to her two-point national vote margin. Asked how they would vote if the election were held today, 43 say they would support Trump and 40 percent say Clinton." In news terms, this is called "burying the lead." The entire article lays out just how shit of a job Trump is doing, but the next to last paragraph basically says "but if the election were held today, Trump would beat her by three points in the popular vote". Now granted, it's a small poll, and what difference at this point does it make, but still...

Bernie Sanders Condemns Threats Against Ann Coulter Speech At Berkeley
Kudos to Bernie on this one. Because he's right. The only thing one accomplishes when shouting down a speaker you despise is that you give them the moral high road. And is it worth mentioning that it only ever seems to be conservative speakers who are protested so vigorously that security costs are ever a concern?

I am the founder of Starbucks and I am begging you to stop buying the Unicorn Frappuccino
"I have grown cynical with the success of the horrid unicorn drink. Is there even caffeine in this thing? I don't know. I don't care. And neither do you. You will buy it and you will drink it. And you will love it. Why? Because we said you would." - Rutherford Q. Starbucks (2017)

Camille Paglia: Trump Already Headed Towards Reelection, Democrats Have Overplayed Their Hand
Once upon a time, she was a darling of the left. Nowadays, her particular brand of feminism is out of style, and thus so is she. But this lesbian progressive, who supported Bernie last year, is ALREADY predicting that Trump wins re-election in 2020 because the Democrats have "overplayed their hand". It's hard to overplay a hand that has so few playable cards, but they're managing to do it. And if their opponents were anyone other than the GOP, the Democrats would be facing extinction. But they'll live to battle another day, and if they're smart they'll be able to make Trump a one-termer. But to do that, they need to abandon any and all hope of Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren ever becoming president, and throw their money and power and influence behind the only person on their side who gives me the slightest bit of worry. A cookie to the first person who guesses right...

Venezuela seizes a General Motors plant amid anti-government protests
Recent polls suggest that the young people are leaning more and more towards socialism. Your guess is as good as mine as to why. Maybe because they only watch their news from liberal sources, that either don't cover stuff like this, or try to justify it. Of course, Bernie would NEVER use the powers of government (translation: guns and tanks) to seize something that wasn't his. What's going on down in Venezuela is, you know, different...

Three dead in central Fresno shooting spree; suspect caught, linked to Motel 6 slaying
Three killed at a Catholic Charities in Fresno, the shooter shouts the "AA" words when he's apprehended, and it's called a "random act of violence" by law enforcement. Gotta love California!! Make it someone shouting "praise Jesus" as he shoots up a mosque, and tell me with a straight face that the story would be reported the same way....

Marine Le Pen slams Angela Merkel’s ‘humiliating,’ ‘outrageous’ comments on French leadership
Meddling in foreign elections. It's been a thing since forever. We've done it, and others do it. I'd say to give it a rest already, but asking some people to not be outraged and aggrieved is like asking the sun not to shine...

The migrant slave trade is booming in Libya. Why is the world ignoring it? | Ross Kemp
This is what happens when you topple a dictator. It's why I didn't love Trump bombing Syria, and it's also why ousting Khaddafi from Libya isn't looking as good now as it did when it happened. I know, every situation is different, but these stories all seem to end the same way...

Google accused of 'extreme' gender pay discrimination by US labor department
"The government’s analysis at this point indicates that discrimination against women in Google is quite extreme, even in this industry.” Note to liberals: it's already super hard to take you seriously, but when you don't practice what you browbeat, then maybe being taken seriously isn't your actual intention...

Syrian survivor to Trump: Thank you
"We don't want to become refugees. We want to stay in our own country." Gonna go out on a limb and say that this isn't how they hoped this interview was going to go. Otherwise, why even frame the question the way she did? Then again, I expect nothing less from Clearly Not News...

Don't let the headline fool you, this isn't a RECENT piece from the New York Times. But in light of what went down earlier today, somehow expect a much different editorial tomorrow from the editorial board of the exact same newspaper. What a difference 3 1/2 years makes!! #tbt

TRUMP BOASTS: Manufacturers have never been more confident in the economy
So I heard this little factoid on the news the other day, and the lengths I had to go to get this link from a somewhat reputable site should tell you all you need to know about how this presidency is going to be covered. Because US manufacturers are more confident NOW than at ANY POINT under both Obama AND George W Bush. And while looking for this point, I saw that just two weeks prior, the Homebuilder's Index ALSO hit highs never seen under Obama. For all the optimism about our previous president that the media ceaselessly reported on in 2009, people are even MORE optimistic now, and nobody is saying a word about it. The news has an agenda. It's not just shown in what they cover and how they cover it. It's also shown in what they ignore...
