I blame the media. This is 100% a media-driven phenomenon. The middle and high school aged generation is one that is utterly obsessed with fame. Practically every kid's show aimed at the 'tween set revolves around kids who are either famous already or are trying to become famous. This generation is eating laundry detergent on web videos so they can get "likes", for heaven's sake!! So now, a few weeks after a horrendous school shooting where we've seen the shooter's blank face countless times and had his name mentioned repeatedly, why are we surprised that we are seeing a rash of these types of stories? STOP SHOWING THEIR FACES AND SAYING THEIR NAMES!!!! #NoNotoriety
