It is time to re-examine the origins of our national anthem, another neo-Confederate symbol
After solid week of yelling at statues, last week the left-leaning Huffington Post ran a piece suggesting that perhaps serving in the US military makes one become a racist. Not to be outdone, the even more leftist Salon is now suggesting that our National Anthem be more closely scrutinized. For a group of people who believe our president to be wrong about so much, they surely go to great effort to prove him correct. Because I'm wondering myself... where does it end?

Becoming A Racist: The Unfortunate Side Effect Of Serving Your Country?
When someone from my side of the political spectrum hears that someone is a veteran, they are thought of as heroes, and people who were willing to sacrifice more of themselves than most are willing to in this country. Their sacrifice is respected, in other words, and they're given the benefit of the doubt until they lose it. When someone from the other side of the spectrum hears that someone is a veteran, their first instinct is to think of them as a closeted racist, and thus have to prove themselves as worthy of respect. At least, that's how I interpret the premise of this piece. Because Huffington Post long ago has lost the right to be given the benefit of the doubt...

Mizzou Pays a Price for Appeasing the Left
It's easy as hell to spot a leftist protestor. Because they're quite open and public about whatever ails them. Which seems to be everything these days. Just look for the marches. But folks on the right protest as well. We just go about it differently, and with a lot less property damage...

Menendez judge has history of tough corruption sentences
Sitting US Senator stands trial for corruption, and the news media yawns. Do I have to even say it? But how ironic would it be for the GOP to reach their 50th healthcare repeal vote on the strength of Chris Christie appointing a Republican to finish the rest of this crook's term. And since I watch this sort of thing religiously, it's notable that there is no mention of Menendez's party affiliation (Democrat) until a circular reference in the fourth paragraph. Now the events of this should be interesting; the judge has a long history of coming down hard on these sorts of cases. Then again, the judge was a Bill Clinton appointee, so...

MSESPN Pulls Asian Announcer Named Robert Lee Off UVa Game To Avoid Offending Idiots

Red Sox owner wants to rename Yawkey Way
Wow, this thing really has legs, doesn't it? Wonder when it stops? Maybe if we take the sports angle here locally, we should rename FDR park. Lots of folks park there for tailgating and such, right? How could we possibly keep the name of a city park after such a racist, whose antics during and after World War 2 regarding Americans of Japanese ancestry is the actual historical manifestation of the modern progressive's worst fever dream about the present administration...

Who are the Workers World Party? And why Durham?
"We are not pacifists. Conflict is inevitable. Great political questions can be solved only through violence.... It is inconceivable that Communism and capitalism can exist side by side. Inevitably one must perish.'' - Vladimir Lenin The fact that I have to even think about posting this and the fury that I'm fairly sure it will unleash is sad. I'm not accusing anyone of anything, and I'm not comparing anything to anything else. I'm simply saying to all the folks so worried about Russian influence in America to maybe pay attention to the fact that there are a bunch of communists running around in broad daylight, is all...

Inside fight that could derail Democratic Party
I know that our current political climate gives us lots to talk about (which is exactly what the executives at all the networks want), but if you didn't do your own research, you'd swear that the only party that's at risk of tearing itself apart right now is the Republican party. And while I give kudos to CNN for publishing this story online, I wonder just how much broadcast time was given to it. I'm going to guess somewhere between zero and one minute of air-time....

More than 60 women consider suing Google, claiming sexism and a pay gap
Aaaand here come the lawsuits!! I barely paid any attention to this story initially, because it bores me. But it's super hard to feel sorry for people who are to the left of Bernie Sanders that aren't practicing what they preach and getting burned for it. Now, it's really pretty easy to point out leftists not practicing what they preach these days, whether it's Jeff Bezos avoiding union labor whenever possible at Amazon fulfillment centers, Bernie Sanders paying a pittance in Federal Income tax while lecturing us about how we all have to pay "owah fayuh shayuh", or every single elected Democrat suddenly believing that Russia is the bad guy after trying so hard to emulate them for the last 30 years. Ted Kennedy tried to collude with them to unseat Reagan in 1984, and they have practically have bridges named after the guy!! But every once in a while, their predicaments make me giggle...

If not for double standards, the left would have none at all. Honestly, it's become so easy to point out the Progressives' blatant hypocrisy that it's barely even fun anymore. Debbie Wasserman Schultz Says She 'Did The Right Thing' By Not Firing IT Aide Sooner

Democrats Abandon Women By Saying They Will Fund Anti-Abortion Candidates
The Democrat in charge of getting other Democrats elected to the US House believes that they ought to broaden their appeal and maybe not be quite so intransigent on a few issues. He's right, of course. But his proposed flexibility is being met with exactly the same #resistance that you might expect from the open-minded sort of people on the American left. Now if one was thinking clearly and rationally, one would think that if one's ultimate goal was to get Donald Trump impeached and end this long nightmare that one believes one is in, one would do whatever is necessary to take back the House of Representatives and actually begin the formal process. But clear thinking seems to be in short supply over there these days...

Senators push bill to protect Mueller
And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why the Republicans are never in power for very long. Was there ever any bi-partisanship to be found to investigate Fast and Furious? Benghazi? The Clinton Foundation? No, no, and no. The elected Republicans constantly act in a way that is never reciprocated by the other side of the aisle. What's unfortunate is that these virtue-signalers likely think that this is actually winning them points with people who didn't vote for them last time.

Analysis | Stephen Miller vs. Jim Acosta sent the White House news briefing completely off the rails
When Sean Spicer made the decision to not televise the daily press briefings, the loudest bitching came from none other than the preening Jim Acosta. So do not at all feel bad for him when he gets attacked from the podium, because it is richly deserved. And his combativeness on every single issue pretty much underlines and highlights and italicizes every negative stereotype that the right has of the media. There's a line between aggressive questioning and advocacy, and both CNN and Acosta crossed that line long ago...
