Connecticut To Give Its Electoral College Votes To National Popular Vote Victor

Not to rain on HuffPo's parade here, but this "National Popular Vote" interstate compact - the constitutionality of which will no doubt be challenged - is rapidly approaching its inevitable ceiling. Any intellectually honest liberal will tell you (but perhaps only over adult beverages and off the record) that this initiative is an obvious end-run around that pesky Constitution. Which means that any state with enough Republicans will never sign onto it. And even if the very blue states of Oregon, Vermont, Minnesota, and New Hampshire were to join this group, that still puts them at only 196 electoral votes. Throw in Maryland and Colorado and New Mexico as well, and it's still only at 210. Sorry folks, the Electoral college is not going anywhere.
