I'm posting a 14-month old article for the obvious reason that the answer to this question now seems quite clear. John Brennan and James Clapper have gone on countless (friendly) television shows and talked all about how the wiretapping and whatnot was justified. They're not even denying it anymore, like they were when this op-ed was written!! Clapper even referred to their surveillance as a "good thing" on CNN, which should come as a shock to exactly none of you. My wish is that the people who are so interested in foreign interference in the 2016 presidential election despite limited evidence would show even a fraction of interest in the domestic interference because there is mounting evidence....
