Maher is not incorrect. He's WRONG to wish such for a thing, but he's not incorrect in believing that another financial kick to the groin is about the only thing preventing four more years of Trump. It's worth noting, however, that rooting for hardship is quite similar to the Rush Limbaugh "I hope he fails" comment from 2008. Yet I doubt Maher will get one tenth of the flak that Limbaugh got. Because, as I'm fond of saying, if not for double standards the American left would have no standards at all.
