Among the more ironic (and tragic) stories that will hit the news this year: Family wants to come to the US for (possibly) life-saving healthcare, because they can't get it at home where it's "free". Trump would win re-election today if he were to send a private plane to the UK, bring the kid and parents to Mar a Largo to receive treatment, and spare Theresa May a tremendous headache. But I get that it would set a precedent, and thus it probably won't happen. This child's plight would normally be something that our leftists friends would be shouting about from the rooftops, but then that would mean siding against socialized medicine and single payer. And since we can't have that, they're largely silent. Some might criticize me for politicizing the predicament of a ten-month old. But this is a news story entirely because of politics. I can't imagine a world where it's illegal to leave to seek treatment. What, have they suddenly become North Korea over in Britain?!?!
