Putting Kavanaugh in perspective: The positives and the concerns
While the left sets its collective hair ablaze with the wailing and the rending of garments, some perspective. This guy is not necessarily a home run in some circles. He might indeed end up being similar in philosophy to the Justice he replaces, who is also someone that he worked for. But this being chess and not checkers, I also wonder if he’s being put out there to get nuked, so that Trump can nominate Amy Coney-Barrett closer to the election this fall, and put the vulnerable Senate Democrats in a bigger pickle. It’s also quite possible that I’m overthinking things...

Steyer floats, quickly walks back 'nuclear war' as 'course correction' for Trump
A week or two back, the far-too-influential Bill Maher was unapologetic in rooting for another economic collapse - an event that wouldn't do a lick of damage to the very wealthy Maher - if it meant getting rid of Trump. Now we have a multi-billionaire Democrat mega-donor rooting for nuclear war to do the same. Now sure, he walks it back almost immediately, but there seems to be this belief among the left that people need to be really bad off in order for them to turn to the Democrats. It's almost like continued success just gets them more and more riled up, as if succeeding actually damages Democrats in some way, so people must be kept continually angry. Wait a minute...

Sarah Sanders Reportedly To Get Temporary Secret Service Protection
When Robert Gibbs repeatedly lied to millions of Americans by saying that they would be able to keep their insurance when he knew that was false, he could go out to eat anywhere in the DC-area and not be bothered. When Jay Carney repeatedly lied to millions of Americans by trying to deflect and deceive regarding the Benghazi attacks during a presidential election, he could go see whatever movie he wished without worrying about getting hassled while buttering his popcorn. When Josh Earnest repeatedly lied to Americans about the legality of the Iran nuclear deal and the prisoner exchange for a military deserter, he was able to walk around the streets in public without being stopped and interrogated. All Democrats, al MEN, all completely safe from the supposedly crazy right wing fringe. But as soon as a woman gets in there... So hold your heads high, leftists. The left loses its cool
I absolutely reject the comparison of 2018 to 2010. Angrily confronting a congressional Democratic representative in a capacity that they ran to accept back in 2010 is one thing. But angrily confronting the closest convenient Republican when trying to eat dinner or watch a movie with their family or friends in 2018 is something way worse. Harassing a woman while she's trying to watch a movie about Mister Rogers is easily the most ironic thing I've read in a long time. It doesn't open dialog in the slightest; it makes people dig in deeper.

Dem Sen. Tammy Baldwin Stumbles When CNN Anchor Asks If Obama Family Separation "Outraged" Her
The answer she never gets around to giving is "no", she never called out immigration procedures under Obama. Because if she DID admit the truth, then she'd be admitting what most on my side have been saying all week; that this crisis is only being discussed to brighten the political fortunes for the Democrats this fall. Fortunes that were looking more and more grim over the past couple weeks. And the most curious part of this nonsensical rambling is that Baldwin eventually comes around to saying how Congress needs to work together to solve this. Which is the exact OPPOSITE of what Senate Minority leader Chuck Schumer said earlier this week. Because he knows that the Democrats stand to benefit more from the problem, so a solution from Congress is actually the LAST thing he wants. I simply do not buy any Democrat politician suddenly finding religion on this matter. They're not credible, and that point can not be proved any better than Tammy Baldwin, Democrat Senator from Wisconsin.

Schumer rejects GOP proposal to address border crisis
We'll see where this all ends up, of course, but experience has taught me that the Democrats don't really care about ending suffering at the southern border when they clearly believe that they benefit from it. Why would they want that to end, especially in an election year? They're campaigning on it and raising far too much money from the problem to even consider working towards a solution!! Perhaps the greatest irony is that Schumer actually suggests that the president should unilaterally change things on his own. In other words, disregard the judicial ruling that states children should be separated and only follow the laws and rulings that he likes. We just went through eight years of that. If Trump was that kind of tyrant, he'd have told the circuit courts to shove it and implement his travel restrictions anyway. But he didn't. Clearly, he's the worst authoritarian ever!! This border situation should change legislatively, but Schumer doesn't want to appear to be working with Republicans in an election year. They won't SAY that, of course, because they want to appear noble. I dunno, just my take.

Trey Gowdy hammers FBI director's response to IG report: 'I'm sorry, you're wrong'
Trey Gowdy used to be a rock star in the GOP. He was often forceful in his calling out of the Obama administration on their frequent bullshit. So it was thought that when Trump was elected, Gowdy might be a similar voice in support of the administration. That hasn’t happened, though. In fact, Gowdy’s frequent defense of the FBI and the appropriateness of the Mueller probe have dimmed his star considerably. Indeed, he’s fallen so far that he is one of many Republicans not seeking re-election this fall, though it’s almost assured. So it’s relevant that the scales have fallen from his eyes with regard to the FBI in light of the Inspector General’s report. What’s also noteworthy is that frequent articles from CNN and other news outlets have picked up articles citing his past defense of the FBI, and even of Paul Ryan’s concurrence with Gowdy, yet I have to go to a tabloid to get an article reporting on his harsh criticism. Read both sides, people. But first acknowledge that there are two sides to the news. Because there are, and it’s been that way for quite a while now.

Bill Maher Is Hoping America Suffers a Crippling ‘Recession’ to Get Rid of Trump
Maher is not incorrect. He's WRONG to wish such for a thing, but he's not incorrect in believing that another financial kick to the groin is about the only thing preventing four more years of Trump. It's worth noting, however, that rooting for hardship is quite similar to the Rush Limbaugh "I hope he fails" comment from 2008. Yet I doubt Maher will get one tenth of the flak that Limbaugh got. Because, as I'm fond of saying, if not for double standards the American left would have no standards at all.

Did Obama Spy on Trump? | RealClearPolitics
I'm posting a 14-month old article for the obvious reason that the answer to this question now seems quite clear. John Brennan and James Clapper have gone on countless (friendly) television shows and talked all about how the wiretapping and whatnot was justified. They're not even denying it anymore, like they were when this op-ed was written!! Clapper even referred to their surveillance as a "good thing" on CNN, which should come as a shock to exactly none of you. My wish is that the people who are so interested in foreign interference in the 2016 presidential election despite limited evidence would show even a fraction of interest in the domestic interference because there is mounting evidence....

Mueller’s Tough Week in Court | National Review
"By indicting Russian businesses that belong to a Kremlin-connected defendant who cannot be forced to leave Russia, Mueller risked exactly what has happened: one of the businesses showing up to contest the case at no risk, in effect forcing Mueller to show this Kremlin-connected defendant what he’s got, even though he has no chance of getting the Kremlin-connected defendant convicted and sentenced to prison." It's a great read though a long one. And just as I have little doubt that Russia did their best to interfere in the 2016 election, I have even less doubt that Mueller (hopefully inadvertently) gave Putin an opening to meddle here, and he took it. Because that's what scoundrels do; they see opportunity and they capitalize. This is about as big of a rake as one can step on. So let's start talking about the adult film star again, and maybe Trump will tweet something stupid so we can ignore the story entirely....

Connecticut To Give Its Electoral College Votes To National Popular Vote Victor
Not to rain on HuffPo's parade here, but this "National Popular Vote" interstate compact - the constitutionality of which will no doubt be challenged - is rapidly approaching its inevitable ceiling. Any intellectually honest liberal will tell you (but perhaps only over adult beverages and off the record) that this initiative is an obvious end-run around that pesky Constitution. Which means that any state with enough Republicans will never sign onto it. And even if the very blue states of Oregon, Vermont, Minnesota, and New Hampshire were to join this group, that still puts them at only 196 electoral votes. Throw in Maryland and Colorado and New Mexico as well, and it's still only at 210. Sorry folks, the Electoral college is not going anywhere.

Exclusive: Democrats lose ground with millennials - Reuters/Ipsos poll
There's a lifetime between now and the November elections, but for those Democrats who are expecting a "blue wave" this fall, you might want to hedge your bets if this poll is to be believed. Because as Trump turns out to be much less of a disaster than promised, and people have a hard time seeing personally the doom and gloom that the news media is saying is all around them, his odds will improve even as he keeps disappointing some of his own voters. No question that the Democrats pick up House seats (that's been the way of it for decades - the new president's party loses seats in the mid-term), but their odds at taking the House are perhaps not what people (including myself) think that they are. Mueller is the wild-card in all of this, I suppose, and if he tries to drop an "October surprise" on things, that may change some minds. But it will also cement into mine that his entire investigation was only ever political in nature to start with...

A Nobel Prize for Trump and Kim Is No Joke
Al Gore won a Nobel Peace prize in 2007 for a PowerPoint slide show with inaccurate predictions and polar bears. Barack Obama won a Nobel Peace prize mere months into his presidency for not being George W. Bush. If Trump does not win a Nobel Peace prize for his role in this monumental achievement (still a long way to go, though), then the award is truly meaningless. I mentioned the possibility of a Peace Prize for Trump a couple weeks back and some folks (I'm looking at YOU, Justin Bainum!) thought me quite batty. Well it appears that the odds-makers think I might be on to something...

The Hidden Bombshell in the McCabe Report | RealClearPolitics
"He (McCabe) said flatly that during the last months of the Obama administration, high-ranking Justice Department officials tried to kill the FBI’s on-going investigation into the Clinton Foundation. It happened in a phone call from DOJ’s third-highest official. Although unidentified in the report, the reference apparently is to Matthew Axelrod, whose title at the time was principal associate deputy attorney general." In case anyone was wondering what evidence of obstruction of justice actually looks like. Now granted, McCabe is already a proven liar, so it's hard to take his word here as gospel. But if what SHOULD happen actually happens, then he'll be losing a lot more than just his government pension.

Mike Pompeo hunts for Senate Democratic vote
A brief history of previous Secretaries of State... Under "obstructionist" Republicans: 2009: Hillary Clinton was confirmed by a 94-2 vote. 2013: John Kerry was confirmed by a 94-3 vote. Under obstructionist Democrats: 2017: Rex Tillerson barely made it out of the Senate Foreign Relations committee and squeaked by with a 56-43 vote. 2018: Mike Pompeo might not even get through. Never let any Democrat tell you that their elected officials put their country before their party, because that's absolute bull-shit.

North and South Korea are reportedly working to end their 65-year-old conflict
Let's not get out over our skis on this one. But if Trump helps bring about a formal end to the Korean War, he will have done more to advance the cause of peace than anyone thought possible. This is Nobel Peace Prize-worthy, and I'm not the least bit kidding. The bar for earning one of those has been lowered drastically, let's not forget. And let's admit it; many of you just now learned that the Korean War never formally ended...

Robert Mueller: ‘Many’ news stories on Trump-Russia probe are wrong
You could replace the word "wrong" with "fake" and not lose any of the meaning. Also of note is the word "many". Now he doesn't say WHICH stories are wrong, nor the details involved. But given the mis-reporting by Brian Ross pertaining to Michael Flynn, the mis-reporting concerning Donald Trump Jr, the mis-reporting about when the Trump people saw the WikiLeaks documents, and the fact that this link is not from any major news network, Mueller's comments here are unlikely to be heeded. Not by our news media, who still prize being FIRST over being CORRECT, and CERTAINLY not by the millions of people who are still looking to Robert Mueller the way Princess Leia looked to Obi-Wan Kenobi: "...you're our only hope."

Starbucks CEO: Employees to Get 'Unconscious Bias' Training
Back in 2013, former Starbucks CEO (and budding left-wing activist) Howard Schultz made waves when he publicly stated that customers carrying their firearms were not welcome in stores. Then in 2015, Schultz asked baristas to "Race Together" by encouraging difficult conversations as people were waiting for coffee before work. Later in 2015, a uniformed police officer in a Philadelphia Starbucks was told that he couldn't use the restroom without paying $12 for their cheapest coffee. So fast forward to this weekend - at the same Philly Starbucks, no less - and NOW the Starbucks CEO (different guy this time) is trying to avoid any responsibility by placing the blame on the cops. News flash, genius, YOUR people called the cops!! So if anyone is wondering, the answer is no, I'm not shedding any tears over Starbucks' problems at this point in time...

Amazon Charts Top 20 Books
Jordan Peterson is a Canadian psychologist and professor. He's perhaps most famous for his recent interview for this book whereby the female interrogator (if you've seen the interview, you'll understand my word choice) is left absolutely speechless by Peterson's rather reasoned defense of his position. As a result of this exchange, Peterson's book has been ranked at or near the top of Amazon's best seller list for a couple months now. As of this link, his book is #1 Most Read and #2 Most Sold (was #1 last week). Why do I bring this up? Try to find Peterson's very popular book on the New York Times best seller list. I went back four or five weeks before NYT asked me for money. No trace. More evidence of media bias? Well, what do YOU think?

Marchers should demand Second Amendment repeal, says former Supreme Court justice
I'm not saying ALL marchers last weekend are in agreement with retired Justice Stevens here. I'm not even saying MOST are. But SOME are, and their numbers are growing. Also growing is their comfort in saying this sort of thing publicly. Some of the members of Congress say it publicly too, which I suppose I prefer to being lied to. Some of them (like Keith Ellison) backpedal and even deny saying what is clear on video. And others, like Rep. Danny Davis of Chicago (one of the deadliest cities in the US, despite a total gun ban oh-the-irony) are unabashed in their belief that the second amendment is a "relic", as Stevens believes. But then, he also believes that amending the Constitution to do away with the Second Amendment would be a "simple" action, so perhaps with judgment like that America is indeed blessed that he is a RETIRED Justice...

Senate conservatives fuming over $1.3 trillion funding bill
I always KNEW that, regardless of which party holds the majority, the Democrats are the ones ACTUALLY in control of the Congress. It's almost like Republicans forget why they lose power!! If Trump doesn't veto this budget, the Republicans will lose the House in the fall, Trump will be impeached, and he'll deserve to be. When Chuck Schumer says that he's "excited" about a budget, you know we're going to have problems. If Republicans don't stand for fiscal responsibility, what DO they stand for? Sadly, my worst fears about Trump might have had some merit all along; one doesn't spend long stretches as a Democrat without sharing at least some of their sympathies. Obama's former Homeland Security secretary says the 'Access Hollywood' tape overshadowed Russia's 2016 election interference
"I was expecting follow-up from a number of journalists, and we never got that because everyone was focused on the campaign, and the video, and the debate that Sunday." Obama DHS secretary Jeh Johnson complaining that the media did not pay Russia the slightest bit of attention when Trump was given no shot of winning. Diane Feinstein then goes off on Johnson, saying that he didn't warn Americans forcefully enough. As if he controls what the media talks about and how passionately they do so!! There are countries on this planet where the government DOES control what news gets covered and what doesn't. Of course those are often countries where one doesn't even want to visit, let alone live. And it's worth noting that the Access Hollywood story itself was held back a couple days because our impartial media didn't want to release the story in the middle of Hurricane Matthew....

Deliverance From Hillary Clinton
"The blockbuster movie version of James Dickey’s novel came out in 1972, when the Clintons and I were young, and made a vivid impression on a rising tide of baby boomers. It satisfied all their biases. A group of cool, modern, rational urban professionals journeyed into the backwoods, only to meet the rest of America—the cross-eyed rapist banjo players. That movie did more to shape the preconceptions of a generation of young Democrats than any other, except 'To Kill a Mockingbird.'"

If folks still wish to believe that yesterday's school walkout was completely student-led, organic, and non-political, this news story is my polite rebuttal. Much of what Donald Trump tweets is irresponsible and distracting. But his constantly referring to Elizabeth Warren as "Pocahontas" only bothers me because he actually gets her nickname wrong. It's FAUX-cahontas. As in, she's not of true Native American ancestry, but she masquerades as one and refuses to apologize for culturally appropriating a heritage that is not hers. New Rule: That's Not News | Real Time with Bill Maher (HBO)
"No wonder fake news resonates so much with Trump fans — because so much of it is fake. It's just nonsense meant to keep you perpetually offended with an endless stream of controversies that aren’t controversial, and outrages that aren’t outrageous — because places like the Huffington Post and Buzzfeed and Salon — they make their money by how many clicks they get. Yes, the people who see themselves as morally superior are actually ignoring their sacred job of informing citizens of what’s important, and instead sowing division for their own selfish ends. Hey, wait, isn’t that what Russia was doing to us? Yeah, it is. And we have to stop both of them from using us as the cocks in their cock fights.” Maher is right once a month. CNN's Jake Tapper Calls Out Dems for Their Failure to Denounce Louis Farrakhan
When Donald Trump refuses to denounce David Duke and others like him forcefully enough, it is him at his most cringe-worthy. His clumsiness in denouncing the Charlottesville fiasco was likewise awkward and poorly done. Since he clearly doesn’t put much thought into what he says, this is perhaps to be expected. But eventually, and rather quickly, he gets to the right place and says the right thing. So it is indeed bizarre that it is only Jake Tapper who seems to be calling out Democrats for their deep ties to Louis Farrakhan, a man who is as anti-Semitic as anyone you will ever meet. He’s also a raging homophobe, which is a strange position for someone so closely aligned with elected Democrats. So why AREN’T these Democrats forcefully denouncing Farrakhan’s latest ranting and raving? And why isn’t our media calling them out on it? I know the answer, of course…

CNN Analyst: Women Can't Carry Guns, Because They Wear Skirts and Dresses
While we may disagree about whether or not allowing teachers to arm themselves is a good idea, I think we can ALL agree that this clown is among the most sexist, condescending, clueless boobs that has ever sat before the cameras of CNN, and believe me when I tell you that THAT is a hell of an accomplishment!!

Transgender wrestler Mack Beggs finishes high school career with another UIL state title amid boos, criticism and questions
When did we get to the point in our society where it's okay for females to take steroids so they can beat up other females and not be punished? Hell, in some circles this isn't just ok, it's celebrated!! What's particularly galling is the "what choice to I have?" attitude that this person takes. It's as if they're being FORCED to wrestle!! The girl that was defeated in the final was 52-0 this season. That's 52 wins, and ZERO defeats. She lost 11-2 in the final. It's one thing if the sport is track, or swimming, or tennis, or something like that. It's still unfair, but at least those sports don't involve throwing your opponent all over a wrestling mat and greatly increase the risk of serious injury. I'm all for acceptance, and I'm all for allowing people to live the lives that they feel they need to lead, but when that right puts other people at a greater risk, I have my doubts. And before it's mentioned, blaming the organizing body for their rule stating that the gender on the birth certificate is the determining factor is a bit of a cop-out. I'm not suggesting that what this person is doing is ILLEGAL. I'm simply saying that what they're doing is WRONG.

Sources: Coral Springs police upset at some Broward deputies for not entering school
I had already thought it a bit of convenient timing that the news of the Stoneman Douglas (armed) resource officer NOT entering the school during the shooting didn't come out until AFTER CNN's town hall spectacle. Rest assured, that information was known in the immediate aftermath of the attack. Now, the news that as many as FOUR sheriffs didn't enter drops over the weekend when few people are paying attention. Yet the Broward County sheriff (who probably has some explaining to do) got himself a nice little platform to grandstand while avoiding any accountability. As I said before, please understand that you're being manipulated.

Hundreds of students walk out of class, march to US Capitol to demand action on gun control
While we're all admiring the "civic mindedness" of our young people in the wake of the Florida shooting, and reading the endless news articles and features celebrating it in the last few days, some of which that are even preposterously suggesting that we lower the voting age to 16, let's remind ourselves of something. The March for Life has been going on every year on the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision, and it is heavily attended by students from Catholic schools from up and down the east coast. And I have NEVER in any of those years ever read any fawning articles nor seen any glowing reports about how "woke" any of those kids were about a hot-button political issue in our times. The only reason we hear about THESE marches is because they more closely align politically with the way our media leans. Please understand that you're being manipulated.

CNN interview with a Trump supporter goes sideways after she learns she unknowingly touted pro-Trump events coordinated by Russian trolls
Dear CNN, At no point will America ever forget that YOU yourself promoted and reported from an anti-Trump rally that was sponsored by Russia. So your harassment of this woman in her driveway as if she were a common criminal is quite a bit rich indeed. Trying to shake off a little of the shame here and distract a bit, perhaps? Well, it's not working. You're only making yourself look more pathetic. A task I previously thought impossible, so bully for you. Pun intended. Jake Tapper deserves better. Revealed: Russian support for Bernie began during New Hampshire primary
One of the LEAST surprising revelations of the recent Robert Mueller investigation is that the Russian's were throwing some of their support Bernie's way. But in light of the fact that Russia seems to be behind both pro AND anti-Trump rallies in the wake of the US election, isn't it much more likely that they didn't give two rubles who won the election, they just wanted Americans angry at one another and marching the streets? The answer, unless you're a leftist, is of COURSE that's what they wanted!! And our media and the leftists who run it were all too happy to oblige the Putin regime. They are "useful idiots", as Vladmir Lenin was rumored to call them. It is quite a trick that our American media was able to be turned so easily, but here we are...

Kim Jong-un’s Sister Turns on the Charm, Taking Pence’s Spotlight
In 1932, New York Times Moscow bureau chief Walter Duranty received a Pulitzer Prize for numerous reports about the Soviet Union under Stalin. Many years later, after the horrors of the famine in Ukraine and the millions of deaths of Russians and Ukrainians were learned, even Duranty's own paper admitted that his blatant denials of the Russian famine amounted to "some of the worst reporting to appear in this newspaper". Duranty was clearly a "useful idiot", despite his credentials as among the most reputable journalists of his time. You'd think that the Times would have learned something in 86 years. You'd be wrong, however. The opportunity to praise a brutal regime while simultaneously dumping on a Republican administration is simply too tempting to pass up. Careful readers will recognize that the first paragraph of this missive is an exact copy/paste from one I put up a couple weeks ago. Because it's not the first time our media has thrown bouquets at the feet of a brutish regime. Let that sink in for a bit.

"There is a sharp and alarming disconnect between the descriptions of Pelosi and the House Intelligence Committee’s Ranking Minority Member Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and the actual document. Trump plan offers citizenship path to 1.8 million immigrants
There's a saying that goes something like, if both extremes are upset over a piece of legislation, then it probably has merit. After weeks of Americans hearing the number of "Dreamers" pegged at 800,000, Trump unveils a proposal for a path to citizenship that is nearly 250% LARGER than that number. The immigration hard liners on the right are upset, but the open borders crowd on the left is also upset because of the border wall funding and other immigration curtailments. But this proposal shows a willingness to compromise, to make a deal, and to seem reasonable. Which is something that should be expected when one elects a non-ideologue to the nation's highest office. It also belies the "Donald Trump hates brown people" narrative that people irresponsibly throw around. Now it's possible that the Republicans will squash this before it gets very far, but I really hope it goes down because of the Democrats. Because as I said days ago, they don't ACTUALLY want a deal. I don't think they do, anyway. They want a campaign issue for 2018. They can't give Trump a legislative victory, and they SURELY don't want to give him one on this!!

Iran’s Fast Boats Stop Harassing U.S. Navy, Baffling Military
I don't know if this is a calm before the storm kind of thing, but rest assured that if the 2016 election had gone another way, this story would be touted as a positive side effect of the nuclear deal. And the wisdom of Democratic foreign policy. But with a combative president currently in office who has been throwing tomatoes (and thankfully nothing else) at the ayatollahs, that argument can't be credibly made, so instead people largely ignore the story. There's a reason that this article appears in the Wall Street Journal and not the New York Times, Washington Post, or on any of the broadcast networks. Can't have positive stories like this out there, now can we? I've said it for years... what ISN'T reported is every bit as significant as what IS...

Verizon and Disney also announced bonuses and stock grants earlier this week. But Democratic Party leadership calls these measures "crumbs". There is perhaps no better example of how out-of-touch that party is to people who have to work for a living in this country. It amazes me that the billionaire president has a better insight into the struggles of the working man than the Minority Leader and, by extension, the party she leads.

Why is liberal California the poverty capital of America?
They answer their own question within the question itself... "With a permanent majority in the state Senate and the Assembly, a prolonged dominance in the executive branch and a weak opposition, California Democrats have long been free to indulge blue-state ideology while paying little or no political price. The state's poverty problem is unlikely to improve while policymakers remain unwilling to unleash the engines of economic prosperity that drove California to its golden years."

Immigration activists outraged with Democrats over Senate vote to end government shutdown
"They caved in early September, but promised to use their leverage in early December. They caved in early December, but promised to use their leverage by the end of the year. They caved at the end of the year, but they promised to use their leverage in January," Levin continued. "And now they caved again, but promised to use their leverage in February. Democrats clearly want to keep Dreamers as a talking point, but they need to grow a spine and actually fight for the Dream Act." I think some on the hard left are finally getting it. Because no matter what Schumer and other party leaders tell you, the Democrats do not actually want a deal on the "Dreamers". No, they want a campaign issue that they can hammer the Republicans with right through the mid-term elections this November. Part of me wonders if the best thing the Republicans could do is actually give them a deal...

Opinion | Oprah, Don’t Do It
"Indeed, the magical thinking fueling the idea of Oprah in 2020 is a worrisome sign about the state of the Democratic Party. That Ms. Winfrey could probably beat those considered likely front-runners — Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, Kirsten Gillibrand — is testament to how demoralized and devoid of fresh political talent the post-Obama party has become." Indeed. What new ideas are the Democrats talking about? Because all I hear them talking about on TV is Russia, collusion, obstruction of justice, the 25th amendment, Trump's mental fitness, scaremongering over the tax cut which has (rightfully) embarrassed them badly, and Russia again. None of that puts food on the table in Wisconsin or Michigan or Pennsylvania. But by all means, try to shove Bernie aside for someone else so that you can continue the identity politics thing. It's just about all the Democrats have left!! Though in fairness, Oprah scares me a bit for 2020. She will get into office and do whatever Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer tell her to do.
